Second Floor Update — 6 New Badges
The Second Floor expansion added six lab-themed badges and the game explains none of them. The steps below are condensed from BlaxieBLOX's badge walkthrough and cross-checked against this site's Lab & DNA guide.
Purple Experiment
Brew a working purple potion. Take a DNA sample from a healthy, non-infected patient with the lab syringe, carry it to the second-floor brewing station, and enter any valid three-letter combo. Regular patients appear from Shift 1, so this badge is available immediately.
Green Experiment
Brew a green potion, which needs DNA from an anomaly or a hider rather than a healthy patient. Infected patients only start showing up around Shift 2, and once a patient is sent to the X-ray room (Room 6) you cannot draw a sample — pull them into a normal exam room first.
Kaboom
Blow up a test tube while brewing. An explosion needs an unstable mixture, so feed the station mismatched ingredients that match no working recipe; the blast is random and can take several tries. Speed it up with the sampler-before-scanner trick: draw the DNA with the lab syringe first, then press E at the room reader with the syringe still equipped and the game hands you two samples instead of one.
Clown (hidden sewer room)
In the second-floor lab, look at the floor directly beneath the large guide board on the wall — there is a sewer grate. Click the pipe cover a couple of times to pop it open, drop through the hole, and talk (E) to the trapped clown until his dialogue finishes. He vanishes and the badge registers.
Dr. Harlow's Office
Reach roughly Shift 16 or higher. Animal Corp sends a delivery crate directly to Dr. Harlow; when the shift starts, walk to him in the lobby, interact, and accept his request to help carry the boxes. You do not have to finish the chore — accepting is enough.
A Friend's Place
A multi-shift Liz storyline. Find the four hidden patient photos she asks for and hand them in, wait one or two shifts for her to return with a newspaper and read it, wait another shift or two, then accept her invitation to visit her room and finish that shift there. The badge unlocks the moment you step inside.
