Quick Verdict
Verify first, treat second. A rejected anomaly is a win, not a missed patient.
Animal Hospital Patients Roblox: The Full Care Loop
Animal Hospital patients Roblox players meet on a shift fall into two groups: ordinary animals that need treatment, and anomalies wearing one. The loop below is the same every night - only the second group changes shape.
Check-in
A visitor walks up to the desk while the shift is running. Nothing about them is confirmed yet - treat every arrival as unverified until the checks say otherwise.
Verify
Run the desk check, the printed photo and the CCTV feed. All three have to agree before the animal in front of you is a real patient.
Admit or reject
One failed tell means the red shutter, with no debate. Three clean layers means you admit and route the patient to the room that matches their condition.
Treat or stabilise
Inside the ward, patients change state on their own timers. Stabilise the timed cases first and let comfort tasks wait.
Recover and leave
A treated patient recovers in roughly 30-40 seconds and leaves the bed on their own. Keep watching the queue, because it never stops filling.
Patient States and Timers
Four states are timed or check-gated, and a fifth is the quiet stage that follows treatment:
| State | Window | First move |
|---|---|---|
| Fainted | 60s | Carry the patient to a bed |
| On Fire | 60s | Extinguish the flames, then treat |
| Critical | 120s | Stabilise them into recovery |
| Suspicious | check first | Re-run the photo and CCTV checks |
| Recovering | ~30-40s | No input needed - stay alert |
Rule of thumb: timers beat comfort tasks. The full breakdown of each state is in the Patient States guide.
Which Patients Are Really Anomalies
- Tiny visitors: a visitor far too small for the queue is an anomaly rather than a patient, so the red shutter is the correct answer.
- Photo-only tells: some fakes look normal until the polaroid prints, which is why the printed photo is never optional.
- Camera-only tells: censored eyes, staring into the lens and impossible posture only appear on the security feed.
- Perfectly normal arrivals: the quiet ones are the reason every desk check runs in the same order on every patient.
Admit or Reject: The Decision That Matters
Admitting is allowed only when the desk check, the printed photo and the CCTV feed all agree. If a single layer fails, reject and move on: a refused anomaly costs nothing, while an admitted one costs you the shift.
Layer-by-layer detail lives in When to Admit a Patient, When to Reject a Patient and Desk, Photo and CCTV Order.
Rescue Order Inside the Ward
- Timed states first: Fainted and On Fire (60s) and Critical (120s) come before any comfort task.
- Protect your own sanity: keep a coffee ready so you can keep working while an anomaly is loose in the hallway.
- Emergency transport: the Wheelchair unlocks from Shift 3 and lets you move a Critical patient without the usual carry delay.
- Gas leak and oxygen crisis: during an emergency event, treat suffocating patients before anything else on the board.
Step-by-step order and the full emergency protocol are in the Patient Rescue guide.
What This Page Cannot Confirm
The developers have not published patient spawn weights, a per-patient payout table, or a complete list of which animals can be replaced by an anomaly. Any page quoting exact percentages is community guesswork. This page therefore states only what you can verify inside a shift, and points to the official patch notes for anything that changes between updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do patients work in Animal Hospital?
A patient is any animal that reaches the check-in desk during a shift. You verify them with the photo and the security cameras, admit or reject them, treat the ones you keep, and they recover and walk out on their own. The treatment side is routine - the real variable is whether the animal in front of you is actually an animal.
Which patient should I treat first?
Timers decide the order, not volume. Fainted and On Fire patients share a 60-second window, Critical patients get 120 seconds, and comfort tasks have no timer at all. Clear the burning windows first, stabilise the Critical cases, then settle into the slower work.
Should I feel bad about rejecting a patient?
No. A visitor stops being a patient the moment a check fails, so the red shutter is a correct call rather than a lost case. What actually costs you the shift is a real animal left in a timed state until the timer runs out.
Why are some patients pink?
Pink Patients belong to a community challenge rather than a normal condition. Players hunt the pink variants and the anomalies that hide among them, and the Shopkeeper Nurse vendor is tied to that theme. The Pink Patients guide covers the challenge in detail.
Can a normal patient turn into an anomaly after admission?
We have not found any official statement describing that transformation, so this page does not claim it. What is well documented in the other direction is anomalies that looked perfectly normal at the desk. Odd behaviour mid-shift is a reason to re-check, not a confirmed mechanic.
