About Room 5's Code
The Room 5 keypad code is the only code that changes every shift. It is always written on the bulletin board memo in the Floor 2 hallway, near the water cooler. The memo looks like an ordinary staff notice, but the number at the bottom is your keypad code. Check it before attempting to enter Room 5.
Keypad Codes vs Key Cards
The eight doors above are opened by two completely different systems, and the difference matters more than it first appears โ it decides whether you can prepare in advance or have to read the world every shift.
| ย | Keypad code | Key Card |
|---|---|---|
| How you get it | Read it off something in the world | Carry it as an item |
| How many doors | Only Room 5 | Everything else on the list |
| Persistence | Changes every shift | Lost every shift |
| Can you bypass it? | Not applicable โ it is the only route in | Some doors accept a code instead; the Admin Wing and Basement do not |
The practical takeaway is that there is only ever one code to learn per shift, and that memorising it is pointless โ it changes every time. What is worth learning is the location of the memo, because that is the part that stays the same. Key Cards work the opposite way: they are the same cards every shift, but you have to go and collect them again.
Note that two doors on the list cannot be opened with a code at all. The Admin Wing entrance and the basement both require their Key Card with no keypad alternative, so neither is a door you can improvise your way through if you have not done the quest chain behind it.
Door Codes โ FAQ
What is the Room 5 door code?
It changes every shift, so there is no fixed answer. The current code is the number written at the bottom of the bulletin board memo in the Floor 2 hallway, near the water cooler.
Where do I find door codes?
Room 5 is the only keypad-locked door, and its code is always on the Floor 2 bulletin board memo. Every other locked door on this page uses a Key Card rather than a code.
Can I open the Security Office without a code?
Yes. The Security Office can be opened with the Security Key Card as an alternative to the code, and you can also get the code from Officer Duckman.
Are there any doors with no bypass?
Two: the Admin Wing entrance and the basement entrance. Both require their specific Key Card and have no keypad alternative, so they cannot be improvised into.
