Any site publishing a new class name before the patch notes land is guessing — we add a class here only once it exists in-game, with its cost and perks checked against the live shop.

Which Class Should You Pick?
F2P (Free-to-Play)
Start with Nurse (10 Animal Coins). It is cheap and the extra inventory helps enormously. Next, grab Firefighter (1,100 Animal Coins) for fire immunity and utility, then save toward Surgeon (2,500 Animal Coins), the best F2P endgame class. If you need sanity support, Doctor (900 Animal Coins) is a solid mid-tier pick.
Robux
If you are willing to spend Robux, Head Nurse (80 Robux) provides incredible team utility with its massive inventory. Secret Agent (320 Robux) is the best solo class, letting you handle anomalies with ease right from shift 1.

Creator videos published on September 19-20, 2026 (O1G, PremiumSalad and Mays) all report that the X2 Coins update adds two new classes, Scientist and Barista, alongside new skins. That is creator reporting rather than an official patch note, so confirm the names and costs in the in-game Class Shop before you spend coins on them.
Creator testing adds several details the developers have not published: in that reporting the Barista is priced at 2,000 Animal Coins and the Scientist at about 1,200, a level 3 Psychologist perk reportedly lets you read teammates sanity, and the Scientist is claimed to speed up lab culture growth - a claim the creator making it explicitly says they could not verify. Treat every number here as creator reporting until the Class Shop shows it to you.
On the Barista side, creator testing puts the upgrade path at brewing custom drinks with a held ingredient by level 1, handing coffee to teammates by level 2, and a shorter coffee machine cooldown by level 3. The Scientist is described as a potion brewer that can cross hallways faster or skip dangerous sections outright, which is exactly why the same creator questions whether the Barista price tag is justified.
