Calling for Backup
During anomaly events, you can call Officer Duckman for backup by using the emergency phone in the reception office or security office. He arrives after a short delay and helps contain the situation. However, he is not trained for supernatural threats — do not rely on him for high-tier anomalies.

When Backup Actually Helps
Officer Duckman is written as a competent security guard dropped into a situation that is well outside his job description. That framing matters mechanically: he is genuinely useful against ordinary disturbances, and genuinely out of his depth against the things that actually end runs. Treat him as a delay, never as a solution.
- Call him early, not as a last resort. Because he arrives after a delay, calling once the situation has already collapsed wastes the window entirely.
- Keep an exit behind you. Backup buys you seconds to reposition. If you have boxed yourself into a room, those seconds buy nothing.
- Pair him with real anomaly tools. A stun from the Security class or a teammate carrying proper equipment is what converts the delay into a resolution.
- Do not expect containment. For high-tier anomalies you need detection and removal, not a flashlight and a radio.
Officer Duckman vs Ron from Accounting
Duckman's longest-running bit is his feud with Ron from Accounting. Ron is permanently convinced the hospital is bleeding money and treats every containment procedure as an expense line, while Duckman insists the situation is under control no matter how plainly it is not. Their dialogue is the main source of comedy in the administrative wing, but it also quietly establishes that the hospital staff are all improvising.
